Wales underlined their status as potential Six Nations champions with a rousing 23-21 victory over Ireland in Dublin. It was a wonderful advert for Six Nations rugby with two teams going at it hammer and tongs for a game won in the last 20 seconds.

A victory for Scotland would see them remain at the top of the Home Nations Cup league table going into their last fixture with the Republic of Ireland on Sunday.The Scots hold a massive advantage in the head-to-head between the two nations, having won 59 times, while Wales have only recorded 22 victories and another 22 games have ended in a draw.

Scotland must now attempt to bounce back and beat the Welsh in their own back yard – something they have failed to achieve in a decade.

New Research: TPA estimates 7,852 council staff suspended for 2,500 working years
