Exclusive: The Shiite militia fighting the IS group in Iraq

Barely a week ago, the Islamic State group’s black flags flew in what used to be Sunni-dominated territory by the Iraqi-Syrian border, 150 kilometres west of Mosul. Now they've been replaced by those of a Shiite militia, which, with the help of members of the persecuted ethnic Yazidi minority, is stepping up its fight against the IS group.
