First, let’s see what happened between Hiccup and Toothless in Christmas. It is an animation/short/ adventure movie starring Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler and Craig Ferguson, directed by Tom Owens. As the village of Berk prepares for its winter holiday, the resident dragons all inexplicably fly away, no one knows why, and Toothless disappears, too.

To find it, Hiccup drives another dragon to a mysterious island, so Hiccup figures out why those dragons leave their owners, they fly to this island to reproduce. But Hiccup still doesn’t find Toothless, however, he has come back home. When he leaving, those dragons follow him to come back and take unexpected gifts for Vikings. At last, when Hiccup wonders why just Toothless has come back yet, it shows up, turn out Toothless goes to find the helmet for Hiccup that he lost when they were flying once. And then, the big celebrate begins.

And here comes “Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas”. It features the return — in voice, if not in body — of John Leguizamo and Ray Romano as, respectively, Sid, the giant ground sloth who never stops talking, and Manny, the giant, hairy, woolly mammoth who doubles as Ice Age’s leading man and hero figure. The plot here is fairly simple. For whatever reason, the characters of the Ice Age franchise celebrate Christmas. In his rush to help, Sid (John Leguizamo) destroys Manny’s (Ray Romano) favorite decorations. Manny is so upset he convinces Sid he is now on Santa’s naughty list.

Sid, Crash (Seann William Scott), Eddie (Josh Peck) and Peaches (Ciara Bravo) take off for the North Pole to plead their case to Santa (Billy Gardell), convince Santa to remove him from the list. Meanwhile, Manny, Ellie (Queen Latifah) and Diego (Denis Leary), worry over Peaches’ safety and race to find her.  Back at the North Pole, Sid and his crew accidentally destroy Santa’s Workshop on Christmas Eve, and it’s up to these newfound friends to orchestrate a Christmas miracle.

All those short films are released just for one reason: Marry Christmas, and the time they begin to celebrate is earlier and earlier, let me see, Dragons: Gift of the Night Fury and Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas are released in early November, and it’s long before Christmas, but who cares, they can be our best companies while waiting for Christmas’s coming.
