Crystal Palace are preparing a £20million bid for Rangers striker Alfredo Moreloes in the January transfer window.
However, reports suggest the Eagles face competition from Premier League rivals Crystal Palace.
According to The Sun, former Scotland international Dougie Freedman was at Tynecastle on Sunday afternoon to watch the Colombia international score against Hearts.
Freedman, who is the Sporting Director at Selhurst Park, wanted to see the 23-year-old in action for himself after glowing reviews from club scouts.
But the south London side face competition from Villa, who also sent a representative to the game.
Boss Dean Smith was asked about the 15-goal striker and told fans to ‘watch this space’.

Smith then sent a scout north of the border, who duly watched Morelos score an equaliser before picking up his first booing of the season.
The striker’s temperament has often been called into question since his move to Ibrox, who got five red cards last season as well as 29 goals.
A move is likely to very tricky given how boss Steven Gerrard has reiterated he wants to keep the striker until the end of the season at least.
