To many people inside and outside of UFC, Johnny Walker was a rising star in the company.
However, at UFC 244, the Brazilian got a huge dose of reality as Corey Anderson extended his win streak to four by demolishing Walker in the first round.
He landed several flush strikes on the young Walker and the prospect had no answers.
Take a look at the video below where Walker met his first demise in the UFC.
After the bout, Anderson was fired up and in both Walker’s the referee’s faces and later suggested he was angry because the New York crowd had booed him.
Anderson sat seventh in the rankings at 205lbs before the fight and this win may catapult him to a date with Jon Jones.
Walker was ranked eleventh and this was the first time he faced real competition in the biggest MMA company in the world.
He’ll need to go away and rebuild, but the fact that Anderson couldn’t actually put him down and he took a standing KO is something to admire.
The 6ft 6in prospect will be back.
