Complete rubbish! Gareth Bale and Raheem Sterling swap deal reports rejected by Real Madrid star’s representative

Reports of a sensational swap deal which could see Gareth Bale join Manchester City have been rubbished by a source close to the Real Madrid star.

It has been claimed that Real want to offer the former Tottenham attacker plus £70million in exchange for Raheem Sterling, having failed to land the England international during the summer.

Real representatives are supposedly set watch Sterling play for his country later this month in Euro 2020 qualifiers against Montenegro at Wembley and Kosovo in Pristina.

However, this has been dismissed by a representative of Bale, who said no such deal would be taking place when asked about the rumours by talkSPORT’s Jim White.

The host of talkSPORT’s mid-morning show revealed the source told him: “With regards to that story running on Bale, Raheem Sterling and £70m – complete rubbish.”

Fresh links of a move to China for Bale have also resurfaced in recent days after a summer of speculation about his future at the club.

The Welshman was spotted in London last week, fuelling rumours that he was holding talks with representatives of Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua.

It is believed he agreed a £1m-a-week deal with Jiangsu Suning in the summer, but it never materialised after Real president Florentino Perez refused to allow Bale to leave.
