‘I’ve rarely seen anything like this at Arsenal’ – The moment John Motson was left stunned by Gunners fans against Wolves

Arsenal fans turned on their team after watching another disappointing performance on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners were pegged back from a winning position for the third successive match when Wolves visited the Emirates, with Raul Jimenez cancelling out Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s opening goal.

The visitors truly deserved their point on the road, and Arsenal were lucky to even end the match with a draw considering Wolves recorded 25 shots to their 10.

Unai Emery is coming under increasing pressure because of recent results, with Arsenal winning only one of their past five matches, while the north Londoners have not kept a clean sheet since the beginning of last month.

And fan discontent appears to be at an all time high at the Emirates given the club’s ongoing struggles.

Supporters are calling for Emery to be axed and replaced by the likes of Jose Mourinho or Max Allegri, while pundits say the Gunners are no better now than they were in the final years of Arsene Wenger’s reign.

And the anger at the Emirates boiled over during Saturday’s clash with Wolves, which was brought to you LIVE on talkSPORT 2.

Legendary commentator John Motson was shocked by what he saw in the dying stages of the match, with fans arguing with stewards and pushing each other in the stands.

“There’s a bit of a scrap going on behind me I think,” said Motson as the angry scenes began and voices were raised.

“Fans are being restrained by stewards to my left here. We’ve got an incident off the pitch.

“In injury time there is shouting and pushing.

“Oh dear me, I’ve rarely seen anything like this at the Emirates. There is a shouting match going on with one supporter and a steward.”

Boos could be heard all around the stadium when the full-time whistle blew, and Emery will be delighted he does not have to return to the Emirates for a match for almost three weeks.
