The Champions League final in 2024 could be hosted in New York, according to reports.
The final of the competition has never been held outside of Europe before.
However, according to Morning Consult, the showpiece event may be hosted in the United States in four season’s time.
The report states UEFA have been informing potential commercial partners that they wish to stage the 2024 final at the MetLife stadium, eight miles west of New York.
The 82,500 capacity ground is the home of NFL sides the New York Jets and New York Giants, and it hosted several pre-season matches in the International Champions Cup.
