Kieran Tierney has ‘got everything you could ask for’ in a top-class full-back and has been backed to kick on for Arsenal in the coming months.
But he concedes it was the right time for the 22-year-old to leave Celtic Park and take his career to the next level.
Tierney hasn’t enjoyed an ideal start in north London, with injury keeping him sidelined until recently.
He has made seven appearances so far in an Arsenal shirt, with just two of those coming in the Premier League, as manager Unai Emery eases him back into action.
A lot is expected of the £25million signing when fit and firing, with the Gunners in desperate need of more steel at the back.
And Brown insists fans will soon see the best of the ‘fantastic’ youngster.
Speaking exclusively to talkSPORT’s James Savundra, the Celtic skipper said: “He’s a fantastic full-back, he’s got everything you could ask for.
“He’s got pace, he’s got strength, he’s got that drive inside him that wants to win.
“He had that at Celtic, he showed his qualities and that’s why Arsenal wanted him.
“I was sad to see him go because he’s a great player and a great friend as well, but it was the right time.
“He will kick on and show everyone what a quality player he is.”
Scott Brown was speaking as part of Paddy Power’s ongoing anti-homophobia football campaign, in partnership with GAY TIMES.
