Veteran striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has posted a hilarious farewell message to LA Galaxy fans after making his last appearance for the club.
The 38-year-old will leave the United States after spending two seasons in the MLS, where he netted a staggering 53 goals in 58 games.
The Swede is said to be targeting a return to Europe and he has been linked with a host of top European clubs including AC Milan, Napoli and Manchester United.
He said last month: ‘I know I could still make the difference, both in Italy and in other countries.
‘I’d do better than the players who are there playing now.’
And ahead of his proposed move back to Europe, Ibrahimovic has posted a hilarious farewell message on social media.
He wrote: “I came, I saw, I conquered. Thank you @lagalaxy for making me feel alive again. To the Galaxy fans – you wanted Zlatan, I gave you Zlatan. You are welcome. The story continues…Now go back to watch baseball.”
Last month, MLS commissioner Don Garber said Ibrahimovic was set to return to his former Milan, a club he spent two years at from from 2010 to 2012.
“Zlatan is such an interesting guy,” Garber told ESPN. “He keeps my hands full, my inbox full, he’s a thrill a minute.
“You need to have those guys who are breaking through the clutter like David Beckham did in our early days.
“And a 38-year-old guy, who is now being recruited by AC Milan, one of the top clubs in the world, he’s almost set records with how many goals he’s scored over the last two years.
“He’s exciting on and off the field, he certainly keeps our hands full.
“At the end of the day I’d love to see him back but that’s going to be up to LA Galaxy.
“I’ve enjoyed the Zlatan moments, particularly when he speaks to me in the third person.”
Ibrahimovic joined LA Galaxy after a year-and-a-half with Manchester United, having also played for Malmo, Ajax, Juventus, Inter, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain throughout a remarkably successful career.
