Khabib knew McGregor didn’t want to be there

Khabib Nurmagomedov revealed that when he looked into Conor McGregor’s eyes he saw he did not want to be in the Octagon with him.

Nurmagomedov won in the fourth round of their bout in October 2018 when he submitted the Irish fighter.

“Before the fight, when the referee stood between us giving us instructions, the opponent didn’t look at me in the eyes,” he told Russian schoolchildren in a Q&A session.

“At that moment, I realised he didn’t want to be in the cage with me. And before that, he talked a lot.

“He looked at me and made statements. But when we were in the cage, I realised he wanted it to be over as soon as possible.”


Iranian Hulk signs up for bare-knuckle fighting

Sajad Gharibi, who once volunteered to join the fight against Islamic State, has signed with the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.

He is a social media sensation known as the ‘Iranian Hulk’ and the ‘Persian Hercules’ and will debut in BKFC next year after turning his attention to bare-knuckle fighting.

Gharibi went viral in 2016 after volunteering to join Iranian forces fighting in Syria, saying he wanted to defend Shia Muslim shrines in the country against IS and other attackers.

David Feldman, the BKFC president, said of Gharibi: “This guy’s going to make his Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship debut in early 2020.

“We’re going to do a show entitled ‘USA vs. Iran: World War III’. He’s literally our biggest signing we’ve ever had.

Conor McGregor ‘lookalike’ names restaurant after UFC star

A Slovakian man as named a restaurant after his ‘lookalike’ Conor McGregor.

The Notorious restaurant was opened by Mikulas Gerenyi and was themed after the Irish fight.

It even sells his Proper Twelve brand of whiskey. See the resemblance… us neither.

Jon Jones explains his signature crawl Octagon entrance

UFC light heavyweight champion Jones makes a unique entrance into the Octagon and recently revealed how it first came about.

The first time Jones did the crawl was before he fought Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson.

He responded to a fan on social media where he explains he made that entrance at UFC 135 to escape nightmares he’d had before the fight.

Jones wrote: “In my nightmare I always started standing so to make sure that dream didn’t come true. I decided to crawl.”

He went on to win that fight by submission in his first light heavyweight title defence.
