Charlie Austin netted a controversial last-gasp penalty to hand West Brom a crucial victory over Preston at Deepdale stadium.
In a match which was lacking clear cut chances, Austin came on to seal the winner from the spot after Declan Rudd was adjudged to have fouled Kyle Edwards in the box.
Slaven Bilic’s men are now two points clear of Leeds United in second at the top of the Championship.
