Carey Mulligan said no to being Doctor Who companion, Steven Moffat reveals

Steven Moffat has revealed that Carey Mulligan was once asked to be the next companion to the Time Lord, but she said no.

In the latest Radio Times magazine, the longtime Doctor Who showrunner discusses his final episode, the Christmas special Twice Upon A Time.

During the conversation Steven talks about the show’s knack for spotting young talent, such as Andrew Garfield, Matt Smith, Olivia Coleman – and Carey Mulligan.

Carey, who starred as Sally Sparrow in the popular episode Blink in 2007, went on to act in such films as Drive, The Great Gatsby and Suffragette.
