The new Permanent Representative of Algeria to the United Nations, Mohamed Ennadir Larbaoui, presented his credentials to UN Secretary-General António Guterres today.
The General Assembly today elected 18 Member States to the Human Rights Council, the United Nations body responsible for promoting and protecting all human rights around the globe, and paid tribute to Abdelaziz Bouteflika, a former President of Algeria and of the Assembly during its twenty‑ninth session.
On 25 September, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres appointed Alejandro Alvarez of Argentina as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Algeria, with the host Government’s approval.
