Charity shop workers find £5,000 rolled-up in a sock

Someone donated an old sock to charity, with £5,000 in cash rolled up inside. 

Presumably they didn’t realise when they handed in the sock that it could be so important.

Volunteers Pam Green and Ann Speyer found the £10 and £20 notes while sorting through donated clothes at the St Margaret’s Hospice shop in Chard, Somserset.

Unclear if it was a mistake, they called police who put out out an appeal and heard from 20 people who had brought items to the shop in July.
