James Arthur has slammed The X Factor fans and judges for suggesting the 2017 finalists were ‘brave’ to sing original songs.

‘Let’s be honest, this is the first year contestants have been allowed to do their own songs,’ tweeted James, who won the series in 2012.

‘Let’s stop saying how brave these guys are, it’s an advantage and respect to them for being able to do it.’
