Donald Trump has said that making Jerusalem Israel’s capital is ‘necessary for achieving peace’.
The president announced on Wednesday the American embassy will be moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
He said: ‘This act passed Congress by an overwhelming majority and was reaffirmed by a unanimous vote by the Senate only six months ago, yet over 20 years every previous US president has exercised the law’s waiver, refusing to move the US embassy to Jerusalem.
